     Gerald M. Milslagle was born on 11 December 1923 in Illinois.^2,3,1,4 He was the son of Floyd Milslagle and Lucille Estes.² Gerald, age 6, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1930 Federal Census at Willow Road in Taylorville, Christian County, Illinois.           He enlisted on 1 February 1943 in the Army at Peoria, Illinois. He was a resident of Christian County, Illinois at the time of his enlistment. He was inducted as a private and was to serve for the "duration of the War or other emergency plus six months. . ." His civilian occupation was classified as an electric truck driver. He was single and without dependents.⁶
          Gerald died on 1 November 1998.⁷ He was 74 years old. According to the SSDI, his last residence was in Taylorville.⁷ His Social Security Number was 705-16-3683. It was issued by the railroad.⁷
