Betsey Hoag was born circa 1799.¹ She may have been enumerated on the 1810 census for Washington, Dutchess County, New York in the household of her suspected father, Philip Hoag, as a female aged from ten to sixteen years old; Philip Hoag, aged 45 and over.² Follow the link to see the census image. Betsey married Theodorus Bailey Northrup, son of John Northrup and Mary Gould, on 8 March 1822 in Dutchess County, New York.¹ Betsey and Theodorus had 4 children. These children are Jane Amelia, Catherine, Jared Hoag and Homer David.³ Betsey died on 21 April 1830 in Dutchess County, New York.¹ She was about 31 years old.
