     Josephine Lumsden was born on 27 March 1852.^1,2 Her parents immigrated from Scotland. I do not know if she born in Scotland or not.² Josephine married Theodorus Northrup, son of Theodorus Bailey Northrup and Amy Jackson, on 7 November 1871.¹ Josephine and Theodorus had at least 8 children. These children are Frank Nelson, Amy Margaret, Lee Neor, Rena Belle, Theodora, Ada Bethany, Josephine J. and Leartes N..
          Theodorus, age 38, and Josephine, age 28, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in La Fayette, Walworth County, Wisconsin. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Frank (age 7), Amy (age 5), Leartes (son, age 3 - missing is Lee Neor, daughter, age 3 - are these two the same person?), Rena Bell (age 2), Baby (daughter, age 7 months). Also in this household is their nephew, Bryon Preston, who works in the store.³ Follow the link to see the census image.
          Josephine died sometime after 1884.⁴
