George married Axsha Cheshire, daughter of Uriah Cheshire (Senior) and Barbara (?), circa 1803. George was 18. Axsha's age is not known.3 George and Axsha had 10 children but only the names of 8 children are known. These children are Rebecca, Barbara, John, Uriah, Elizabeth E., Mary Ann, Sarah and Axsha.3
George was enumerated on the 1810 census for Hampshire Co as George Milslagle, a white male between 26 and 44. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household: Axsha, his wife, aged a white female between 26 and 44; Rebecca and Barbara, aged newborn to ten years old.4 Follow the link to see the census image. 1810 U.S. Census, Hampshire County, Virginia, page #765

George, age 65, was enumerated in the household of his daughter, Elizabeth, and son-in-law, Samuel Cheshire, on the 1850 Federal Census in District #24, Hampshire County, Virginia. George does not have an occupation listed and he is unable to read or write.9 Follow the link to see the census image. 1850 U.S. Census, District #24, Hampshire County, Virginia, population schedule, page 154b (308), National Archives micropublication M432, roll 948, viewed on Ancestry.com 2001. George, age 76, was enumerated in the household of his daughter, Elizabeth E. Milslagle, and her husband, Samuel Cheshire, on the 1860 Federal Census in Hanging Rock, Hampshire County, Virginia. George's occupation is given as a farmer. It is hard to tell if he owns land. There are hash marks on the census that indicates he also owns $3000 worth of land but perhaps the census taker means he works his son-in-law's land. George's personal property is valued at $320.10 Follow the link to see the census image.
