Samuel Sutton Hiett was born circa 1813 in Virginia.1 He was the son of Joseph Hiett and Alice Sutton.1 Samuel married Sarah Parks, daughter of Colonel George Parks and Hanna Mühlschlägel.1 Sarah died on 12 November 1843, leaving Samuel a widower.1 After Sarah's death, Samuel married Anna Parks.1
