Seaborn Burt was born on 4 July 1706.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Burt and Sarah Belding.¹ Sallinger notes: "concerning Seaborn Burt's birth in Julia Harrison Lobdell's book . . 'Benjamin Burt, (David's youngest son), with his wife, was captured by the Indians at the burning of Deerfield, Mass., and taken to Canada. Ensign John Sheldon of Deerfield, made four expeditions to Canada, to redeem his fellow-townsmen and finally on 30 May, 1706, left Quebec with over forty of them, among who was Mr. Burt, his wife and child. They went down the St. Lawrence and thence by sea to Boston, where they arrived on Aug. 2.' On the voyage Mrs. Burt gave birth to a son, who was named 'Seaborn' from the place of his birth."²
Seaborn married Susannah Lobdell, daughter of Joshua Lobdell (I) and Mary Burwell.¹
