The Genealogy of the Millslagle Family

     Mary E. Johnson was born circa 1855 in Missouri.² Her parents were born in Tennessee.³ Mary married James H. Millslagle, son of Abraham Millslagle and Louise Eliza Baker, on 9 February 1875 in Morgan County, Illinois.¹ Mary and James had six children. These children are Laura, Joel, Walter, Nillie, William and Dora.^3,4
          James, age 34, and Mary, age 25, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Pleasant Valley, Platte County, Nebraska. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Laura (age 4), Joel (age 2), and Walter (age 7 months).³ Follow the link to see the census image.
          James, age 39, and Mary, age 70 (I believe this is in error - I have not viewed the original record), were enumerated on the 1885 Nebraska State Census in St. Bernard, Platte County, Nebraska. Also enumerated in this household were Larra (age 9), Harrion (this might be the same person as Joel, age 7), Walter (age 5), Nillie (age 2) and William (age1).⁵
          James died before 1910, leaving Mary a widow.⁶ Mary, age 55, was enumerated in the household of her daughter, Dora, and son-in-law, John Tiddern, on the 1910 Federal Census at 106 Maroon Street in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois.⁷ Follow the link to see the census image.
