Archey P. Belcher was born circa 1872 in Kentucky.² Archey married Laura Millslagle, daughter of James H. Millslagle and Mary E. Johnson, on 14 January 1896 in Morgan County, Illinois.¹ Archey and Laura had at leaast 10 children. These children are Leo, Glenn Lawrence, Warden, Wayne, Jessie, Findley, Mary E., Frances E., Edna and Edith. Archey worked as a merchant in a general store.³
Archey, age 48, and Laura, age 44, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Temple Hill, Barren County, Kentucky. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Leo (age22), Warden (age 21), Wayne (age 16), Jessie (age 14), Findley (age 10), Mary (age 8), Frances (age 7), Edna (age 6), and Edith (age 4 years and 3 months).
