Elizabeth Milslagle was born circa 1820 in Hampshire County, Virginia.² She was the daughter of Jacob Milslagel.² She may have been enumerated on the 1820 census for Hampshire Co in the household of her father as a female aged from newborn to ten years old.³ Follow the link to see the census image. She may have been enumerated on the 1830 census for Hampshire Co in the household of her father as a female aged newborn to five.⁴ Follow the link to see the census image. Elizabeth married James Rowley on 28 September 1840 in Fulton County, Illinois.^2,1 She was about 19; his age is not known. Elizabeth and James may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, John.² Elizabeth married Samuel Strain.^2,5
Samuel, age 33, and Elizabeth, age 29, were enumerated on the 1850 Federal Census in Center, Fulton County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were John Rowley (Elizabeth's son, age 9) and Samuel Milslager (Elizabeth's brother, age 42). They live next door to another brother, Elias Millslagle.
