     Sarah Begntol was born circa 1847 in New York.^1,2 Sarah married Horace Vanorder.¹ Sarah and Horace had at least 5 children. These children are Angeline, Alice, Mary, George W. and Andrew J..¹
          Horace, age 44, and Sarah, age 33, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Alice (age 17), Mary (age 16), George (age 11), Angeline (age 8), and Andrew (age 6). Benjamin Daugherty, nephew, age 19, lives here as well. Sarah is unable to read and write. Enumerated nearby is Andrew VanOrder, Horace's suspected brother.³ Follow the link to see the census image.
          Sarah appeared on the Almshouse Register on 27 June 1909 for Rushville, Schuyler County, Illinois. Her entry states that she was in poor health and unable to care for herself. Her age is given as 84 but I don't believe this is correct; she is 62.⁴ Sarah died on 1 June 1911 in Schuyler County, Illinois.⁴ She was 64 years old. She was buried in Osmer Cemetery in Schuyler Co..⁴
