Calton Ackley was born circa 1841 in Ohio.1
He was the son of Obediah Ackley and Elizabeth Merry.
Calton served in the military during the civil war. He enlisted 21 October 1861 in I Co., 62nd Infantry Reg. Ohio. His age at enlistment was given as 21.1
Calton died on 20 October 1862 in Fort Schuyler, New York.1
He was about 22 years old.
The cause of death was from He died from wounds received during an assault on Ft. Wagner, South Carolina. He was about 22 years old.1
