She was the daughter of Uriah Milslagle and Maria Fertick.3
Caroline, age 8, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census in Smith's Gap, Hampshire County, Virginia.4

Caroline, age 17, was enumerated in the household of her employer, Abraham Johnson, on the 1870 Federal Census for the New Creek Post Office, in Cabin Run Township, Mineral County, West Virginia.5
She is the 2nd great-granddaughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
