     Isaac Newton Milslagle was born in 1835 in Virginia.1,2,3 He was the son of Samuel Millslagle and Joanna Glaize.4 He may have been enumerated on the 1840 census for Hampshire County, Virginia in the household of his father as a male aged newborn to five.5 Follow the link to see the census image. He enlisted in Company K, 106 Illinois Infantry as a Corporal on 14 August 1862. When he enlisted he claimed residence in Sweetwater, Menard County, Illinois. He mustered out as a Full Sergt on 12 July 1865 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.8,9
          Isaac married Emily Stone. Isaac and Emily had five children. I have eight children listed so a couple of these children are the same people. These children are Rowena, Iota, Amanda Jane, Nellie, Albert, Carrie, Jodie and Irene.
          Isaac, age 36, and Emily, age 29, were enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census in Township 18 Range 5 West (Tallula Post Office), Menard County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children, Irene (age 4) and Amanda (age 1). Isaac's personal estate was valued at $500.           Isaac, age 44, and Emily, age 35, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Pueblo County, Colorado. Also enumerated in this household were their four children: Amanda (age 13), Roena (age 10), Carrie (age 8) and Jodie (age 4).11 Isaac worked as a farmer.11 Follow the link to see the census image.
