Mary Millslagle was born circa 1849 in Virginia.^1,2 She was the daughter of Abraham Millslagle and Louise Eliza Baker.³ Mary, age 1, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1850 Federal Census in District #24, Hampshire County, Virginia.⁴ Follow the link to see the census image. Mary, age 10, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Pleasant Site Post Office in Speedwell Township, St. Clair County, Missouri. She has attended school this year. Also living in this household are two suspected uncles, Cornelius and Abraham Baker.³ Follow the link to see the census image. She is the great-granddaughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
