Amanda Jane Milslagle was born on 16 February 1867 in Illinois.^1,2 She was the daughter of Isaac Newton Milslagle and Emily Stone.^3,2 Amanda, age 1, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1870 Federal Census in Township 18 Range 5 West (Tallula Post Office), Menard County, Illinois.⁴ Follow the link to see the census image. Amanda, age 13, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1880 Federal Census in Pueblo County, Colorado. She is not marked for attending school. I don't know if this was overlooked or if she wasn't attending school.⁵ Follow the link to see the census image. Amanda married John Nash.⁶ Amanda and John may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Harry Clarence. Amanda died on 7 February 1956 in Los Angeles County, California.² She was 88 years old. She is the 2nd great-granddaughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
