     James H. Millslagle was born circa 1845 in Virginia.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Abraham Millslagle and Louise Eliza Baker.1 James, age 5, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1850 Federal Census in District #24, Hampshire County, Virginia.5 Follow the link to see the census image.           James, age 22, was enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census in Payson, Adams County, Illinois. He is living in the household of John Delaplan and family.7 Follow the link to see the census image. Johnson on 9 February 1875 in Morgan County, Illinois.8 James and Mary had six children. These children are Laura, Joel, Walter, Nillie, William and Dora.9,10
          James, age 34, and Mary, age 25, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Pleasant Valley, Platte County, Nebraska. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Laura (age 4), Joel (age 2), and Walter (age 7 months).9 James worked as a farmer.9 Follow the link to see the census image.           James, age 39, and Mary, age 70 (I believe this is in error - I have not viewed the original record), were enumerated on the 1885 Nebraska State Census in St. Bernard, Platte County, Nebraska. Also enumerated in this household were Larra (age 9), Harrion (this might be the same person as Joel, age 7), Walter (age 5), Nillie (age 2) and William (age1).11 James died before 1910.12 He is the great-grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
