Descendant of J.A.M. Delcie Pearl Millslagle
b. say 1890

Delcie Pearl Millslagle was born say 1890.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Wellington Millslagle and Cora Alice Childers.2 Grace Kelso Garner asserts in Earliest Settlers of Western Frederick and Eastern Hampshire Counties that life was hard for Delcie so Delcie ran away from home at age 14. She married "a farmer and lived in an isolated area." Her husband deserted her when she was pregnant. The following is an excerpt from a letter written by Delcie Pearl Millslagle to Grace Kelso.           Delcie married William T. Godward.2 Delcie and William may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, William Brewster. Garner writes: "Returning to Bodie, Nevada from the hospital, Delcie found her house being used in the filming of the picture Hells Angels, the mine owner having leased the property to the film producer, so she had to enter her home through the back door so as not to interrupt this filming. Joan Harlow and Charles Bickford were to carry this tiny baby while riding their horses so young Bill Godward, age about two weeks, appeared in the Hells Angels.3"
Delcie suffered a severe stroke in 1974.3 She is the 4th great-granddaughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
