Last Edited=27 Jun 2004

Colonel George Parks was born in 1762.1 He was the son of John Parkes (III) and Susanna Elrod.2 NOTE: Much of Garner's information is confusing and many dates don't seem "right." I have entered all information as Garner presents until further research is done. He served in the militia and "was often with his men to pursue the hostile Indian bands who roved the area.2 George worked as "a jurist in Romney and he served several terms in the Assembly at Richmond."2
George married Hanna Mühlschlägel, daughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel and Anna Maria Emmitt, in Hampshire County, Virginia.1 George and Hanna had 5 daughters and 3 sons. Only the names of 6 children are known. These children are John, William, Susan Alice, Elizabeth, Philena and Sarah.2 The 1790 census records for Virginia have been lost. Other sources for residence information will need to be found. The 1800 census records for Virginia have been lost. Other sources for residence information will need to be found.
George died on 23 July 1842 in Hampshire Co.1 He was about 80 years old. He and Hanna were buried in Parks Burial Ground (Quaker Cemetery) in Hampshire Co.2
