     William Brewster Godward was born on 8 August 1929 in Bodie, Mono County, California.1,2 He was the son of William T. Godward and Delcie Pearl Millslagle.1,2 Garner writes: "Returning to Bodie, Nevada from the hospital, Delcie found her house being used in the filming of the picture Hells Angels, the mine owner having leased the property to the film producer, so she had to enter her home through the back door so as not to interrupt this filming. Joan Harlow and Charles Bickford were to carry this tiny baby while riding their horses so young Bill Godward, age about two weeks, appeared in the Hells Angels.3"
          William married Dian Dovereaux on 9 September 1949 in Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio.3 William worked as an Engineman, Third Class in the US Coast Guard.3 William and Dian did not have any children.3
          William died on 30 January 1951 in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California.3,2 Bill was in a car accident near Susanville and was flown to the Marine Hospital in San Francisco where he later died. He was 21.3 He is the 5th great-grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
