     John Horn (Junior) was born on 22 January 1838.1,2,3 He was the son of John Horn and Catherine Cooper.1 John, age 22, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1860 Federal Census in Capon Bridge, Hampshire County, Virginia.4 John worked as a merchant.           John married Mary Elizabeth Caudy, daughter of Colonel James Caudy and Sarah (?).1 John and Mary may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, James W..
          John, age 32, and Mary, age 29, were enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census for the Forks of Capon Post Office in Gore Township, Hampshire County, West Virginia. Also enumerated in this household was their son, James, age 8 months.5 John worked as a merchant. At the 1870 census, his personal property was valued at $2500.5 Follow the link to see the census image.           John died on 27 July 1883.1 He was 45 years old. He is the great-grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
          

NOTE: This information is under contention by another researcher who believes that it was Catherine Gard who married John Horn, not Catherine Cooper. He also notes that the children belong to John and Catherine (Gard) Horn. I have not followed up research conducted by either Gardner or Cooper.6
