William Loy was born on 28 February 1847 in Cicero, Hamilton County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of Hiram Loy and Nancy Brown Denune.² William married Lillian Isador Hinman, daughter of Orin Willard Hinman and Cornelia Mosher, on 21 December 1882 in McDonough County, Illinois.^1,3 William and Lillian had at least 3 children. These children are Willard Arthur, Walter Hiram and Nellie Frances. William died on 4 January 1916 in Good Hope (Sciota Township), Mc Donough County, Illinois.¹ He was 68 years old. He is the 2nd great-grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
