Follett was born circa 1859 in Illinois.^1,2 He was the son of Losesing Follett and Esther (?).³ Emmet, age 11, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1870 Federal Census for the Eldora Post Office in Hardin Township, Hardin County, Iowa.
