The Mulherns and Raffertys of Lawrence County, Ohio

The Mulherns and Raffertys of Lawrence County, Ohio
With the DeJongs and Dalenbergs of Cook County, Illinois (orignating in the Netherlands)

Welcome to the Mulhern pages. These pages honor the ancestry and family history for two very distinct families that come together when Charles Patrick Mulhern (of Ironton, Ohio) married Alice Bertha Dalenberg (from Hayfield, Minnesota) in San Diego during 1921.

Charles was the son of John Mulhern and Emma Rafferty. Both of these families are originally from Ireland. The earliest known American ancestors are James Mulhern and John Rafferty

Alice was the daughter of Nick Dalenberg and Clara De Jong. Both of these families are orginally from the Netherlands. They arrived in Cook County, Illinois around 1850 and helped to establish the village of Roseland, also known as South Holland. Today this area is part the incorporated city of Chicago.

In this update, I've added several more images for census and World War I draft records. Because this project is always changing, I'd appreciate any corrections or additons you can offer.
