Cornelius Dalenberg (M) (31 October 1851 - 21 March 1909) Relationship=Great-grandson of Pieter Cornelisz Dalenberg. Last Edited=17 Jun 2005 Cornelius Dalenberg was born on 31 October 1851 in Roseland, Cook County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Pieter Dalenberg and Lijntje Vanderszijde. Cornelius, age 9, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Blue Island Post Office in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois.2 Follow the link to see the census image.
Cornelius married Johanna Adriana Kemp on 23 March 1875 in Cook County, Illinois. He was 23 and she was 20.3 Cornelius and Johanna had 11 children. These children are Peter, Neeltje Antonia, Lyntie Katherine, Bertha, Tryntie Wilamena, Henry Nicholas, Goris, Margaretha Aaltje, Neeltje Antonia, Pieter and Lijntje. Only 5 of these children were alive during the 1910 census.1 Cornelius, age 28, and Johanna, age 25, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Roseland. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Pieter (age 4) and Neeltje (age 3).4 Cornelius worked as a teamster.4 Follow the link to see the census image. Cornelius and Johanna moved to Three Oaks, Berrien County, Michigan in 1883.1 Cornelius died on 21 March 1909 in Three Oaks Village, Berrien County, Michigan.1 The cause of death was from heart failure. He was 57 old. He was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Three Oaks Village, Berrien County, Michigan.1
