Last Edited=17 May 2005

Nicklas Dalenberg was born circa 1817 in the Netherlands.1 Nicklas married Cornelia (?).1 Nicklas and Cornelia had at least 6 children. These children are Femtze, Cornelius, William, Peterje, Antje and Ary. Nicklas, Cornelia and Femtze probably immigrated from Holland to the United States of America sometime between 1846 and 1850.1
Nicklas, age 33, and Cornelia, age 29, were enumerated on the 1850 Federal Census in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their daughter, Femtze (age 4), and Antye Bras (age 15, also born in Holland). Her relationship to this family is unknown but I suspect she is a relative. They live near Peter and Catherin DeYoung who are known relatives.1 Nicklas worked as a farmer. His real estate is valued at $400.1 Follow the link to see the census image.
Nicklas, age 43, and Cornelia, age 39, were enumerated on the 1860 Federal Census for the Thornton Station Post Office in Thornton, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Cathan (Femtze, age 14), Cornelius (age 9), William (age 7), Peterje (age 5), Antje (age 2) and Ary (age 6 months).2 Nicklas worked as a farmer.
