     Henry Nicholas Dalenberg was born on 4 March 1889 in Three Oaks Village, Berrien County, Michigan.2 He was the son of Cornelius Dalenberg and Johanna Adriana Kemp.1 On 26 March 1909, Henry was living in Three Oaks Village.1 Henry, age 21, was enumerated in the household of his mother on the 1910 Federal Census in Three Oaks Township, Berrien County, Michigan.3 Henry worked as a farmer on the house farm.3 Follow the link to see the census image. Henry married May Ella Doster on 16 September 1914 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.4 Henry and May may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Robert Howard.
          Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. Henry filled out a draft card on 5 June 1917 in Three Oaks, Berrien County, Michigan. He was 28 years old and described as having a medium height, stout build, blue eyes and brown hair. His wife was solely dependent upon him for support.2 Henry worked as a city clerk.2
          Henry died on 3 December 1979 in Niles, Berrien County, Michigan.5 He was 90 old.
