     Goris Dalenberg was born on 23 October 1892 in Three Oaks Village, Berrien County, Michigan.3 He was the son of Cornelius Dalenberg and Johanna Adriana Kemp.2 Goris also went by the name of George.2 In 1909, George lived with his parents in Three Oaks Village.2 George married Eurnia (?) in 1916.4 He was 24 years old; she was 20 years old. Goris and Eurnia may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Fern.
          Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. George filled out a draft card on 5 June 1917 in Niles, Berrien County, Michigan. He was 24 years old and described as having a medium height and build, grey eyes and brown hair. He claimed exemption because his wife was expectant and solely dependent upon him for support.3 George worked as a laborer for Tower Cotton Mills, Inc. In Niles.3 George and Emma were living at 1323 North 5th in Niles, Berrien County, Michigan.3
          George, age 27, and Emma, age 25, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Niles City, Berrien County, Michigan. Also enumerated in this household was their daughter, Fern (age 2 years and 10 months).5 George worked as a worker in a cotton mill.5 Follow the link to see the census image. Goris worked as a pressman in a print shop.4
          George, age 37, and Emma, age 34, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 448 Walnut Lane in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Also enumerated in this household was their daughter, Fern, age 12.4 Goris worked as a pressman in a printshop.4 Follow the link to see the census image. Goris died in September 1974.1 He was 81 old.
