Antje De Jong was born on 4 May 1852 in Roseland, Cook County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Pieter De Jong and Trijnte Dalenberg.¹ Antje, age 8, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Blue Island Post Office in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois. Anna, age 18, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1870 Federal Census for the Calumet Post Office in Hyde Park, Cook County, Illinois.³ Follow the link to see the census image.

Antje married Simon Dekker on 12 March 1874 in Roseland.⁴ He was about 20 years old; she was 21 years old. Antje and Simon had at least 6 children. These children are Harry, Peter, Henry, Katie, Abram and Alice.¹ Antje died on 31 March 1916 in Roseland.¹ She was 63 old.
