     Maartje Dalenberg was born on 13 April 1848 in the Netherlands.¹ She was the daughter of Klaas Dalenberg and Cornelia Hoogendonk.¹ Maartje and Dieuwertje were twins.¹ Maartje died on 16 April 1849 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She died before the family boarded the ship to cross the Atlantic. Her cause of death is unknown.¹ She was one old. On 28 April 1849, Klaas and his family boarded the ship, Massachusetts of Boston, in Le Havre, France. For an account of their voyage see this web page.¹
