     Maartje Kuijper was born on 1 February 1852 probably in Cook County, Illinois.1 She was the daughter of Cornelius Kuijper and Maartje Dalenberg.1 She is their third daughter with the name of Maartje. The other two children died young. Maartje Kuijper was also known as Mary and as Martha.1 Maartje, age 8, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Blue Island Post Office in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois.2 Follow the link to see the census image.           Maartje married Nicholas Roogeveen, son of Cornelis Roogeveen and (?) Hoogboven.1 Maartje and Nicholas had 2 children. Their names are Mattie C. and Gearitt M. These children have not been entered in this database.1 Maartje died in 1920.1 She was about 68 old.
