Kornelis Kuijper (M) (28 March 1853 - 1908) Relationship=Great-grandson of Pieter Cornelisz Dalenberg. Last Edited=17 Mar 2005 Kornelis Kuijper was born on 28 March 1853 probably in Cook County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Cornelius Kuijper and Maartje Dalenberg.1 He is their second child with the name of Kornelis. The other Kornelis died young. Kornelis also went by the name of Cornelius.2 Cornelius, age 7, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Blue Island Post Office in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois.3 Follow the link to see the census image. Cornelius, age 17, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1870 Federal Census for the Calumet Post Office in Hyde Park, Cook County, Illinois.2 Follow the link to see the census image.
Cornelius married Wilhelmina Broertjes, daughter of Jan Broertjes and Guurtje Eenigenburg, on 16 April 1875 in Cook County, Illinois. He was about 22 and she was about 19.1 Cornelius and Wilhelmina had at least 9 children. These children are Cornelius Cornelius, John, Mark, Gertrude Mae, William, Cornelia, Andrew, Nellie J. and Mary M..1 Cornelius worked as a gateman of the Illinois Central Railroad at Burnside.1 Kornelis died in 1908.1 He was about 55 old.
