     Abraham A. Madderom was born on 11 January 1873 the U.S.A..1 He was the son of Abraham Madderom and Jantje De Jong. Abraham married Mary Sizoo.2
          Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted its third and final draft registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Abraham filled out a draft card on 12 September 1918 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was described as having a medium build with a short height and brown eyes. He was 45 years old. His nearest relative was Maria Madderom who lives at the same address.1 Abraham worked as an owner of a market-grocery at 117 W. 111th Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1 Abraham and Mary were living at 117 W. 111th Street in Chicago.1
