John De Young (M)
(circa 1837 - )
Last Edited=21 May 2005

John De Young was born circa 1837 in the Netherlands.1 He was the son of Jacob De Young and Gertrude (?).
Jacob De Young and Gertrude (?) and their children immigrated between 1844 and 1850 to the United States of America. This is the same timeframe that known DeYoung relatives came on board the ship Massachusetts. I wonder how they might be related. John, age 14, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1850 Federal Census in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois.1 Follow the link to see the census image. John, age 23, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Blue Island Post Office in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois.2 Follow the link to see the census image.
