Jantje Dalenberg¹ (F)

     Jantje Dalenberg was born on 17 September 1864 in Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Klaas Dalenberg and Keetje Gouwens. Jantje also went by the name of Jennie. Jennie, age 5, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1870 Federal Census in Thornton, Cook County, Illinois.² Follow the link to see the census image. Jennie, age 15, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1880 Federal Census in Thornton. Her occupation is given as "at home."³ Follow the link to see the census image.
          Jennie married Pieter M. Stegenga on 26 August 1890 in Cook County, Illinois.⁴ Pieter died on 5 December 1939, leaving Jantje a widow.¹ Jennie died on 23 May 1945.¹ She was 80 old.
