     Cornelia (?) was born circa 1833 in the Netherlands.¹ Cornelia married Cornelius Gowers.¹ Cornelia and Cornelius may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Wilhelmina.
          Cornelius, age 32, and Cornelia, age 27, were enumerated on the 1860 Federal Census for the Thornton Station Post Office in Thornton, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their daughter, Wilhelmina, age 1 year and 6 months, and a teacher, Mathew Jonson, age 31.¹ Follow the link to see the census image.
