Peter Dekker (M) (25 July 1880 - 5 November 1956) Relationship=2nd great-grandson of Pieter Cornelisz Dalenberg. Last Edited=20 Jun 2005 Peter Dekker was born on 25 July 1880 probably in Cook County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Simon Dekker and Antje De Jong. Peter married Dora Van Den Berg.2
Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted its third and final draft registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Peter filled out a draft card on 12 September 1918 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was described as being tall with a slender build, blue eyes and brown hair. His nearest relative was his wife, Dora. He was 38 years old.1 Peter was living at 10637 State Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1 Peter worked as a grocer at Dekker and Dekker. The business address is the same as Harry Dekker's residence at 10700 South State Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1 Peter died on 5 November 1956.2 He was 76 old.
