     Claude J. Dalenberg was born on 8 August 1883 perhaps in Cook County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of Cornelius Dalenberg and Maria J. Leenhouts. Claude married Janke Waalkes on 10 January 1917. They were 33 years old.¹ Claude and Janke had at least 4 children. These children are Barbara, Frances, Jane and John.
          Claude, age 46, and Jennie, age 46, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 12238 Hanord in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Jane (age 10), Barbara (age 8), Frances (age 7), and John (age 4 and 9 months). They own their home which was valued at a whopping $15,000 and they have a radio. The record does not indicate if he is a military veteran or not.² Claude worked as a lawyer.² Follow the link to see the census image. Claude died on 24 December 1939.^1,3 He was 56 old. He was buried at Homewood Memorial Gardens in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois.⁴
