     Gertrude Mae Kuyper was born on 18 July 1885 probably in Cook County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Kornelis Kuijper and Wilhelmina Broertjes. Gertrude married Cornelius Tanis, son of Phillip Tanis and Trijntje De Jong, on 1 January 1906 in Roseland, Cook County, Illinois.¹ Gertrude and Cornelius were living at 10612 Nebash Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.² They had at least 2 children but their names are not known. Their daughter married Mr. Eenigenburg. Their son married Miss Vandermeulen.¹ Gertrude died on 29 January 1944.¹ She was 58 old.
