     Clarence W. Dalenberg was born on 9 June 1891 in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Willem Dalenberg and Rikje Van Oostenbrugge. Clarence, age 8, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1900 Federal Census in South Holland Village, Cook County, Illinois. He attends school.2 Follow the link to see the census image. Clarence, age 18, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1910 Federal Census in South Holland.           Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. Clarence filled out a draft card on 5 June 1917 in South Holland. He was 25 years old and described as medium height, slender build, blue eyes and light colored hair.1 Clarence worked as a self-employed carpenter.1
          Clarence married Jennie Dalenberg, daughter of (?) Rietveld, on 15 April 1919.4 They had at least 2 children but only the name of one child is known, Claude.4
          Clarence, age 28, and Jennie, age 26, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in South Holland Village. They own their house free.5 Clarence worked as a house carpenter.5 Follow the link to see the census image.
          Clarence, age 38, and Jennie, age 36, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 15619 State Street in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their son, Claude (age 2 and 8 months), and Jennie's brother, Seymour Rietveld (age 34). They own their house which was valued at $7000 and they have a radio set. Clarence is a veteran of the World War (now known as World War I).6 Clarence worked as a building contractor.6 Follow the link to see the census image. Clarence died on 5 April 1969.4 He was 77 old.
