     Janke Waalkes was born on 19 August 1883 in Holland.^1,2 Janke married Claude J. Dalenberg, son of Cornelius Dalenberg and Maria J. Leenhouts, on 10 January 1917. They were 33 years old.¹ Janke and Claude had at least 4 children. These children are Barbara, Frances, Jane and John.
          Claude, age 46, and Jennie, age 46, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 12238 Hanord in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Jane (age 10), Barbara (age 8), Frances (age 7), and John (age 4 and 9 months). They own their home which was valued at a whopping $15,000 and they have a radio. The record does not indicate if he is a military veteran or not.² Follow the link to see the census image.
          Claude died on 24 December 1939, leaving Janke a widow.^1,3 Janke died on 26 July 1959.¹ She was 75 old.
