Jan Cornelius Ton1 (M) (30 May 1826 - 4 June 1896) Last Edited=28 Mar 2005 Jan Cornelius Ton was born on 30 May 1826 in Akersloot, Noord Holland, Netherlands.1 He was the son of Jan Ton and Pietertje Stam.1 Jan, age 22, was enumerated in the household of Peter Dalenberg (his employer) on the 1850 Federal Census in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois. It has been reported that Jan was a farm hand for the Dalenberg family in Holland and that he immigrated on the same ship as Peter.2 Follow the link to see the census image. Jan married Aggje Vandersyde, daughter of Leendert Van Der Zijde and Lintje Van Steenberg, on 1 April 1853.1 They had 21 children. Many of these children died in infancy. Their children were:, Jan, Cornelius, Leendert, Pieter, Cornelius, Elizabeth, Maria, L., Trijntje, Lijntje, Trijntje, Trijntje, Goris, Goris, Cornelius, Nellie, Goris J., Dirk J., Cornelius, Arie and Aagje.1 Jan worked as a fisherman and a farmer.1 Jan died on 4 June 1896 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1 He was 70 old.
