     Frederick William Jansen was born on 10 March 1876 the U.S.A..1 Frederick married Nellie Ton, daughter of Jan Cornelius Ton and Aggje Vandersyde.2
          Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted its third and final draft registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Frederick filled out a draft card on 12 September 1917 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was described as being tall with a stout build (201 - [pounds?]). He was blue eyes and light hair. He was 42 years old. His nearest relative was his wife, Nellie Ton Jansen.1 Frederick worked as a wholesaler of paper, groceries and sundries at 352 W. 103rd Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. This address is down the street from his residence.1 Frederick and Nellie were living at 316 W. 103rd Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1
          Frederick died in 1955.2 He was about 78 old.
