Klaas Blink¹ (M)

     Klaas Blink was born on 1 March 1847 in the Netherlands.¹ Klaas, age 14, was enumerated in the household of Pietertje and Willem Gouwens on the 1860 Federal Census in Thornton, Cook County, Illinois. I believe that Willem later becomes Klaas' grandfather-in-law. Klaas works as a farm laborer.² Follow the link to see the census image. Klaas married Giela Gouwens, daughter of Arie W. Gouwens and Geerigje Van Vuuren, on 2 May 1875.¹ Klaas and Giela had 8 children. They are:

• Carrie (born 15 Nov 1877)
• Abigail (3 Jan 1879 - 25 Mar 1956)
• Harry (born 28 Jun 1881)
• Hattie (27 Nov 1882 - 12 June 1923)
• Nellie (14 Aug 1886 - 1970)
• Henry (6 Oct 1891 - 1940)
• Margaret (born 28 Sep 1896)
