     Peter Van Erden was born in March 1859 in the Netherlands.2 Peter Van Erden and Jennie (?) immigrated from the Netherlands to America around 1872. I believe they immigrated separately.2 Peter married Jennie (?) circa 1884.3 He was 24 years old; she was 20 years old.3 Peter and Jennie had 4 children. These children are Antje, Eva, Peter and Carrie.2
          Peter, age 41, and Jennie, age 31, were enumerated on the 1900 Federal Census at 154th (or 159th) Street in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Anne (age 13), Eva (age 11), Peter (age 10), and Carrie (age 7). Also living in the house was Gerrit Knynahorg (age 63, Peter's father).           Peter, age 50, and Jennie, age 46, were enumerated on the 1910 Federal Census in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their four children: Anne (age 23), Eva (age 21), Peter (age 19), and Carrie (age 16). Also living with them is Peter's grandfather, Gerrit Knynahorg, age 74. Peter and Jennie own their home without a mortgage.1 Peter worked as a blacksmith that owed his own shop.1 Follow the link to see the census image.
          Peter, age 59, and Jennie, age 55, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census at State Street in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were two of their children: Peter (age 28) with his daughter (Maria Van Erden, age 3) and Carrie Rump with her son (Harold Rump, age 1). Gerrit Knynahorg, age 84, is also enumerated as Peter's grandfather but he is only 25 years older than Peter.           Peter, age 70, and Jennie, age 66, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 15506 State Street in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their daughter, Carrie, age 36, and her son, Harold Rump, age 11. They own their house which was valued at $3000 and they have a radio. Peter was not a U.
