Agnes Cave Howard: foster mother of Jennie from about 1872 to 1886, from age 7, following the death of Emma Crook Drew. Mary Jane went by the name "Jennie Howard".

"At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Siegfried A. Carlson, Pleasant St., Marshfield. Oct. 24, Mary J. C. (Drew), wife of the late Francis J. Miller, formerly of New Bedford, in her 84th year: mother of George W. Miller of Plympton. Services at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Marshfield Hills, Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 1pm. Relatives and friends invited. Committal service at Oak Grove Cemetery, New Bedford, 3pm. Visiting hours at the Separrell Funeral Chapel, Central St., Norwell, Monday, 7 to 9pm; Thursday, 2 to 9 pm."

"Mary J. Miller, New Bedford, was appointed guardian of George Washington Miller and Edith Frances Miller, minor children of said guardian and of her late husband, Francis Miller of Taunton, deceased; real $1,000."

"Henry Miller et alii have quitclaimed to Antonio E. Perry four acres of land and buildings on the west side of Rockdale Avenue. Mary Miller, Guardian has deeded 1/3 of this property to Antonio E. Perry."
