On Wednesday morning, October 23, 1935, at 1:20 o'clock, JOHN E. GARCIA of 134 Rosewood Dr., Metairie, husband of Anita Martin, father of Martin F., and John E. Garcia, Jr.; son of the late Jeanne Connelly and the late Eugene A. Garcia; brother of Mrs. H. R. Yockay, Eugene and Paul E. Garcia. Relatives and friends are invited ot attend the services from the P. J. McMahon & Sons Funeral Home, 4500 Canal Street, near cemeteries, at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning, October 24, 1935, followed by a mass at St. Catherine of Sienna church, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. J., Frank, Kitsey, James, and Howard Martin; age 66 years; a native of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Tuesday, December 24, 1957, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. from the auxiliary funeral home of Jacob Schoen and Son, Inc., 3827 Canal St. at North Scott, with Requiem Mass at St. Anthony of Padua church. Pg. 2, col. 7 Prosper Chedville Mr. Prosper Chedville, one of our most highly esteemed and respected citizens, died on Monday, February 11, 1924, at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. John S. Treadaway, at Potash, La. Mr. Chedville at the time of his death had reached the age of 78 years and 10 months. He was a native of this parish and well and favorably known. He is survived by two sons, Henry and Renoi Chedville, and four daughters, Mrs. Henry Martin, Mrs. John S. Treadaway, Mrs. Eustis Bayhi and Mrs. Chas. Lassus. The remains were conveyed to New Orleans Tuesday and interment made in Greenwood Cemetery. The Gazette extends it's sympathy to the bereaved family. Source: I got a copy of his death certificate, and apparently on the back was this obituary. No source info. It says "The Gazette extends..." so I would guess it was in the Plaquemines Parish Gazette. |
