Witness that certain sums of gold & silver have been paid, since the coming of the said M. the Lieutenant of Aquitaine, to certain people of arms, archers, crossbowmen, & mariners, ordered to go rescue the place of Mouretaign on Gironde, in the manner as follows, ...

Item, Pay the 2nd day of November, the year above-mentioned, to Gibon NOREYE, Jak JOLY, Richard TILBURY, & John SPARWS, mounts & arms, to serve, in the wars of the King, by a quarter of the year [allowing/taking] each for the said quarter lx francs (cc. xl francs).
