This is believe to be James mother. She lived in Ohio at the time James was born and is quite possible to have moved to Ohio from Pennslvaynia. Actually we have found that they moved from VA to OH.

On the 1830 Census Mary Dotts and Dorthy Dotts are shown living together and they have a male child living with them which would be the correct age for James H. Dotts. They were living in Clinton County, OH. There is also a Margaret Dotts living with a Rhomeus family and an Elizabeth Dotts married a Christopher Rhomeus I believe it was.

George Dotts, is the father of four daughters and one or two sons. We believe that George Dotts is the grandfather of James H. Dotts, his mother's father. George Dotts moved to OH from VA and earlier researchers have George Dotts listed as the son of Boston Dotts. Boston be believe could be an Americanized version of Sebastian Datz.

James H. married Leah McKay and they named one of their children, George
