Obediah Baker

  General Notes:

I'm not sure but strongly believe Obediah is Sylvester Baker's brother, they both have adjoining land in 1784 in Rowan County NC and in 1784/85 sell that land and both appear in Smith County TN, about 1817 Obediah Baker moves to Clark County, GA and Sylvester moves to Callaway County, MO

The land records show that Obediah's wife's name was Patience

Obediah Baker born abt. 1736, wife Rachel ??? married about 1765 Surry
Co. N.C. died about 1822 in Tuscaloosa Ala. (I have his Will) Charolette
Coats & I thinks that Obediah and Sylbester Baker are brother. Census's
say they came from Dorsett, England into Maryland???
Obediah Bakers children are: Nancy, Polly, Sally, Nicholas born 1791 N.C.
died 1819 Tuscaloosa Co. Ala. (who married Elizabeth Lawrence in Surry
Co. N.C. Married 2nd Elizabeth Hicks in Clarke Co. Ga.) John, and Susanna.
