James Mason aged 35 years, an employee of the El Paso Stable, dropped dead this afternoon at 1 o'clock while engaged in the performance of his duty, his death was due to a hemmorrhage of the lungs. Mr. Mason had been in teh employ of the stable for several years, and while he had been a sufferer from lung trouble for some time, he had been feeling very well for the past few days and his death was entirely unexpected. Mason had just returned from taking a carriage to one of the patrons of the stable. He walked in the door of the stable apparently in the best of health, and was walking to the rear when he was taken ill, death occuring in a few minutes. The deceased has a mother and father who reside in Missouri, but who had been visiting his sister, Mrs. Frizzell in Manitou for the past two weeks. No arrangements regarding the funeral have yet been made.
